Andrew McCaldon


Andrew is the writer for the BBC’s acclaimed classical music initiative TEN PIECES, scripting two films (screened on BBC2, CBBC and in cinemas) the first of which won an RTS North West award, and two concerts for the BBC PROMS at the Royal Albert Hall (CBBC). He wrote two series of POETRY: BETWEEN THE LINES for the BBC which both went on to win Children’s BAFTAs (2014 and 2015). His new narration for Benjamin Britten’s THE YOUNG PERSON’S GUIDE TO THE ORCHESTRA was performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra and Imelda Staunton at the Royal Festival Hall in 2016 and broadcast on Classic FM. Andrew’s other work includes the children’s film GUIN AND THE DRAGON, a contemporary twist on Arthurian legends (BBC2).
