Katie is an experienced theatre director, practitioner and qualified educator who graduated from the National Theatre’s Director’s Course. In 2018 she will direct Bryony Lavery’s adaptation of SWALLOWS & AMAZONS at Storyhouse Theatre and David Wood’s version of BABE at the Mercury Theatre. She was associate director of Pilot Theatre for 8 years with whom she has directed multiple international and touring productions. Her 2017 national tour of MADE IN INDIA (Tamasha/Belgrade/Pilot) was nominated for an Off-Westend.com award and won the Eastern Eye Theatre and Culture Award for Best Production. Other productions include Bridget Foreman’s EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE: THE YORK SUFFRAGETTES at York Theatre Royal and FINDING NANA by Jane Upton (New Perspectives) at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a UK tour in 2018. Katie has directed productions for Northern Stage, Tron Theatre, Live Theatre and Out Of Joint amongst others, and is passionate about working with new writers.
