Nicola Baldwin

Nicola is a director and writer. She won the George Devine award with her first play CONFETTI. THE RIB CAGE was commissioned by the Royal Court and produced by Royal Exchange. Other plays include 23.59 at the Crucible and adaptations of METROPOLIS and BEOWULF or ‘Storm’ at Bath Theatre Royal. Plays for radio include HAVE YOUR CAKE (series), TONY & ROSE, THE CRISIS OF WALLIS SIMPSON, and CHALKIE COBB (broadcast live on Resonance FM). For 2019: WE THE YOUNG STRONG developed NT Studio /Lowry about 1930s far-right; NOSOCOMIAL written in collaboration with Healthcare Scientists, winner of Chief Scientific Officer’s award from NHS England. TV includes HOLBY, WHERE THE HEART IS, NIGHT AND DAY. She is working on a number of short film projects, feature scripts MILO 11, and SLAP, and developing original ideas for TV.
