Adam Simpson

Adam is a writer from Chester with degrees in English and Scriptwriting for Film & TV from Sheffield and Liverpool universities. 

Adam was commissioned to write for the acclaimed LA Productions series Moving On, with his episode airing on BBC One in February 2019. Earlier in his career his screenplay One More Unfortunate was long-listed for the prestigious Red Planet Prize, then reimagined for the stage and long-listed for the Bruntwood Prize. He also received one-to-one mentoring from Jimmy McGovern on Beaten, a gripping screenplay inspired by the case of teacher Peter Harvey. In 2025 he co-wrote his first episode of Waterloo Road and is story consultant on the  series, showcasing his flair for shaping bold, contemporary drama.

Currently an active member of Liverpool’s Lantern Theatre writers’ forum, Adam is developing fresh projects for both screen and stage, driven by his signature mix of grounded realism and social insight.
