Asia Goldie

Asia is a deaf screenwriter and script editor from Cumbria, currently based in Scotland. A ‘Channel 4 New Writer’ on their 2024/25 scheme, where she was mentored by Claire Mundell at Synchronicity, Asia’s work has also previously been shortlisted for their Northern Writers Award. Graduating from Screen Academy Scotland with a Masters degree in Screenwriting, Asia went on to a career in TV Production whilst pursuing her passion for writing and scripted development. 

Alongside her writing, Asia now works professionally as a Script Editor, contributing creatively to fantastic shows such as Nightsleeper (BBC), Bad Sisters S2 (Apple TV), and Summerwater (Channel 4). 

Her extensive experience in editorial and production gives her a strong knowledge of the industry. Taking influence from her own identity, Asia’s writing showcases disabled and workingclass characters, focusing on women’s stories and using comedy drama to explore what unites people within divisive circumstances.
