Ben Cottam

Ben is a writer from Lancashire, best known for his prolific work for BBC Radio 4. He is currently finishing a new play  which will be broadcast in 2026. 

Previous work includes multiple series of the sitcom PLUM HOUSE (starring Simon Callow) and the drama THE LATVIAN LOCUM, as well as original plays such as THE RECEIVER OF WRECK (starring Alice Lowe and Jane Horrocks). 

Recent audio adaptations include THE SIGNALMAN by Charles Dickens and Powell & Pressburger’s A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH. 

Ben has also written and presented a number of acclaimed documentaries, essays and features for BBC Radio 3.
