Bindu de Stoppani

Bindu De Stoppani is a British writer, director and showrunner working across film and television. Fluent in both English and Italian, she develops and directs international productions for UK, European and US audiences.

As a feature filmmaker, Bindu wrote and directed Finding Camille, filmed across Switzerland, Italy and Bosnia. The film premiered to critical acclaim at the International Rome Film Festival before being broadcast on Swiss television and ARTE across Germany, France and Switzerland. Following its cinema release, Finding Camille was also screened throughout the UK by independent cinema group Kino Digital.

For television, Bindu is the creator and showrunner of the Netflix Original series An Astrological Guide for Broken Hearts, based on Silvia Zucca’s bestselling novel. She also co-wrote and co-directed the series, which streams in more than 190 countries and reached Netflix’s Top 10 in Italy, France, Spain and Argentina. She is currently developing a new book-to-screen adaptation with Elaine Collins' TOD Productions.

Bindu created the original pilot Orange through Dancing Ledge Productions and ScreenSkills’ High-end Television (HETV) New Writers Programme, and wrote and executive produced the pilot Scammed for TriStar Television/Sony Pictures Television in the United States. She continues to develop a slate of original film and television projects across the UK, Italy and the US.

As a television director, Bindu has directed episodes of the BBC hit drama Beyond Paradise (Series 3), Silent Witness (Series 26), Signora Volpe Series 2 for Acorn TV, and the Paramount+ thriller Girl Taken. Her directing work spans premium drama, crime, mystery and character-led television for leading international broadcasters and streaming platforms.
