Bio

Cheryl is a theatre-maker and a graduate of both Central School of Speech and Drama and the University of Bristol and she is an Associate Artist with Noveau Riche. She is the founder and executive director of Purple Moon Drama, a theatre company that creates opportunities for young people and emerging artists. Cheryl's most recent play APPLE premiered at the 2020 VAULT Festival and she has previously been commissioned by Paines Plough and Tamasha to write for their Come To Where I'm From series. Her play BLACK BETH was long listed for the Soho Theatre's Verity Bargate Award and shortlisted with commendation for the Tony Craze award. She has previously been a member of the Tamasha Writers' Group and the Soho Writers' Lab and is currently working on new pieces for the stage.
