Greer Ellison

Greer is an award-winning writer and producer from Northern Ireland. He co-founded London based production company Paradox House which has produced 10+ features and had films playing at Cannes, Berlin, Toronto and Sundance Film Festival.

His debut feature film, BUTTERFLY KISSES, premiered at the 2017 Berlin Film Festival where it won the Crystal Bear for Best Film, making Greer the youngest person to win this award. BUTTERFLY KISSES went on to win another 10 awards and receive a further 12 nominations internationally.

In 2024, Greer penned the Amazon Original rom-com HOW TO DATE BILLY WALSH, released on Prime Video. The film debuted at #2 on Amazon’s global charts and features a standout cast including Sebastian Croft, Charithra Chandran, Tanner Buchanan, Nick Frost, Guz Khan, Lucy Punch and Kunal Nayyar. That same year, he wrote the psychological horror THE BEAST WITHIN, starring Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington. Distributed theatrically in North America by Universal Studios, it went on to top Hulu’s charts for 10 consecutive days and peaked at #3 on the UK’s Paramount+.

His next horror feature, HIDE & DON'T SPEAK, is greenlit in partnership with Range Media Partners and produced by Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Longlegs, Insidious, Sinister) with production scheduled to begin in Vancouver in 2025. Greer also co-wrote short RULE, BRITANNIA for Choose Love directed by Max Fisher.

Greer is a series-regular writer on BBC Northern Ireland’s crime drama HOPE STREET, contributing episodes across the last three seasons. He also has a raft of original projects underway with leading UK indie production companies, and has written two audio dramas for BBC Sounds and BBC Radio 3 spanning drama and fantasy

His scripts have been selected for the BBC Drama Room, BBC Writers Room, Microwave, Midpoint, LA Screenwriters Festival, Northern Ireland Screen Development Funding, Cinestory, IFP, and the Sam Spiegel Film Lab.
