Bio
Imy trained on the Drama Directing MA at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She received the Nicole Kidman Bursary from Michael Grandage Futures 2025/6 to write and direct a new play about gender, power and magic, which she is workshopping at Kiln Theatre. She was awarded a Develop Your Creative Practice grant to learn about Opera Direction in 2024. The same year her production Duck won the Charlie Hartill Award. Her production BEASTS, by Mandi Chivasa was awarded a Fringe First Award in 2023 - she co-directed this with Sarah Stacey.
She was the Mackintosh Resident Assistant Director at Kiln Theatre 2024/5, where she assisted on four shows and spent four months working on Hamilton and Phantom of the Opera. She was an Artistic Associate at Arcola Theatre 2023/4, where she worked In-House on producing, programming and script-reading. She was a Creative Associate at Jermyn Street Theatre 2022/3. Imy was recently shortlisted for the 2025 Peter Hall Director Award.
