Joe Ward Munrow

Joe is a multi award-winning writer based in Liverpool. Previous credits include: The Legend of Ned Ludd (Liverpool Everyman), The Busker (BBC Radio 4), Held (Liverpool Playhouse Studio) Blue (Gate Theatre, London and Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama), Hercules and Phoebe (National Theatre “Let’s Play” Tour), Dogs (Liverpool Playhouse Studio) and Screaming Heart. In 2025 Joe was announced as the inaugural winner of the Robert Holman Award for playwrights based in the North and he is also the Winner of the Mercury Weinberger Playwriting Award. Joe has previously been writer-in residence at the National Theatre Studio and the Liverpool Everyman, he has also led playwriting groups at the Liverpool Everyman, the Manchester Royal Exchange and the Royal Court, London. He is currently a lecturer in Scriptwriting at Manchester Metropolitan University.
