Bio
John Hopkins wrote over 50 episodes of Z CARS (BBC) starring Judi Dench in the 1960s. He went on to write the four-part serial TALKING TO A STRANGER (BBC), also starring Dench, the 1976 Play for Today A STORY TO FRIGHTEN CHILDREN (BBC), and the 1982 adaptation of John Le Carre's novel SMILEY'S PEOPLE (BBC). Stage plays include THIS STORY OF YOURS (Royal Court), which later became the film THE OFFENCE.
