Kellie Smith

Kellie Smith is a Liverpool based writer, an RTS ‘Best Screenwriter’ nominee and winner of the BIFA Best Short film award. Her films THE BIG DAY and TO KNOW HIM have taken her to many film festivals including BFI, Sydney and SXSW. Her TV credits include CASUALTY, HOLBY CITY, ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL as well as being a regular writer on the series, WATERLOO ROAD. Kellie has several TV and film projects in development including THE GOODBYE PLAN with Rope Ladder and LOST ANIMAL with Expectation TV. She has developed original series, TAKING STOCK with Sky Studios. 

Kellie began her career in theatre and radio, with plays performed at Hampstead Theatre, Liverpool Everyman and the Royal Exchange Theatre. Her theatre work has been shortlisted for the Bruntwood Prize, and she has completed attachments with the National Theatre and the Royal Court Writers’ Programme. She has also written plays for BBC Radio 4 and for young audiences, including work for the National Theatre’s Connections programme.
