Matt Evans's roles
Matt is one of the UK's most versatile and prolific television series writers, with credits on twenty-six different shows since graduating from the first BBC Drama Writers Academy in 2006. Most recently, he co-created, wrote and executive produced the acclaimed teen drama PHOENIX RISE for BBC3, and his numerous other credits include A TOWN CALLED MALICE, A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES, THE GOOD KARMA HOSPITAL, MALORY TOWERS, OUR GIRL, RIVIERA, ACKLEY BRIDGE, HETTY FEATHER, NEW TRICKS, LAW & ORDER UK, STELLA, WILD AT HEART, WATERLOO ROAD, HOLBY CITY, GRANGE HILL, THE DUMPING GROUND, THE WORST WITCH and others.
As a long-standing core writer on EASTENDERS over a period of ten years, Matt wrote over 120 episodes including Christmas Day episodes and live specials. He co-created BBC Northern Ireland’s hit drama series 6 DEGREES, wrote a much-loved Sky One Little Cracker for Barbara Windsor, and his work has been nominated for numerous BAFTA and RTS awards.
Matt has developed original projects with Sky Studios, BBC Studios, ITV Studios, CBBC, Company Pictures, Kudos, Synchronicity, Playground Entertainment, Corestar, Magic Light, Muse Entertainment, Vertigo Films and many others, and he has had original scripts commissioned by all of the UK's main broadcasters.
