Melina Namdar

Melina Namdar is a director and writer working across stage and screen. Her productions have sold out, toured nationally and received multiple award wins and nominations, including two Black British Theatre Awards and the London Pub Theatre Award.

Her directing credits include Vitamin D (Soho Theatre), Passion Fruit (New Diorama) We Can’t Be Friends (Brixton House) and All the Happy Things (Theatre503). She has also worked at the Royal Court, Young Vic, Bristol Old Vic and Lyric Hammersmith.

As a writer, Melina was selected for the National Theatre’s Peter Shaffer Commission and The London Library Emerging Writers Programme, and has been commissioned by the Gate Theatre. She is a Criterion New Writing alumna and recipient of the Artistic Directors of the Future Bursary, and is currently a participant on Clore Leadership’s Leadership Pulse programme.
