Poonam Brah





Poonam is a director for stage and screen.

Poonam’s Film London produced short film HOME GIRL was officially selected for over 40 film festivals internationally. Currently she is working on a new short EX and feature HUMAN 2.0. She is a member of BFI NETWORK X BAFTA CREW 2021 and was selected as a mentee on the WFTV scheme 2021. Passionate about new and authentic voices, Poonam has directed for theatre companies including National Theatre Studio, Kali, Hampstead, Royal Court, Soho Theatre, Theatre Royal Stratford East, The Yard Theatre and Birmingham Rep. Her theatre company, 3Fates, uses a raw and poetic devising style to tell female driven stories, including RETURN and TO CLOSE YOUR EYES IS TO TRAVEL.

Poonam’s training includes the National Theatre Studio Directors Programme, Staff Directing at the Young Vic, Royal Shakespeare Company and West End. She is an Alumni of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab, NY. She is an MGC Bursary awardee, for her work on a new project, NOOR, supporting her to tell a bigger and more ambitious story that has national and global resonance. Southwark Playhouse and UK tour in 2022.
