Bio
Sara Nourizadeh is a Welsh‑Iranian screenwriter and director whose work spans both documentary and scripted film. Originally from South Wales, she first made her name with access-driven documentaries.
She has since moved into drama screenwriting, focusing on character-led stories rooted in cultural specificity. Her semi-autobiographical series FRANK, about her father’s experience emigrating from Iran to Wales, is in development with 5Acts Productions. Her ballet-world thriller COLEBROOK was developed through BBC New Voices (Wales) and placed in the top 1% of submissions to the BBC Writersroom Open Call.
She is the writer and director of MARRIAGE TEST — a debut short film and romantic comedy backed by BFI and Ffilm Cymru Wales — currently in production.
