Bio
Sophie is a writer for screen, stage and audio. Her work blends entertainment with emotional and intellectual impact, exploring intimacy, feminism, gender dynamics, modern love and found families through bold, character-driven storytelling.
For the stage, Sophie has written the site-specific plays Disco and Drinks (Three Pegs Productions), and has developed later work with the Pleasance (This Thing Called Love, 2023), The Cockpit (Men Are From Malvern, 2023) and Yellow Coat Theatre (The Chat, Theatre503, 2022). Her radio play Total Slag was produced by Just Out Theatre in 2020, and her plays Temperance and Apples and Pears have been developed through scratch performances, the latter with The Young Actors Theatre.
Alongside her writing, Sophie is an experienced story producer and script editor. She was named a ‘One to Watch’ at the 2019 Edinburgh International TV Festival and graduated with a Distinction from the NFTS Script Development Diploma. She is currently Head of Development at Brock Media, where she is developing projects with STUDIOCANAL, BBC Drama and Channel 4. She has story produced and script edited across high-volume and returning series for BBC, ITV and Sky, including Vera, Wolfe, Holby City, Emmerdale, Doctors, Coronation Street and EastEnders.
