Tariq Jordan is a writer, actor, and educator of Russian-Jewish and Iraqi-Muslim heritage. A graduate of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, he has worked extensively across stage and screen.
His debut play ALI AND DAHLIA, inspired by his experiences working in Palestine, premiered at the Pleasance Theatre Islington in spring 2019, directed by Kerry Kyriacos Michael MBE. The play received three OffWestEnd Award nominations, including Most Promising New Playwright, and was nominated for Best Play at the 2020 Writers’ Guild of Great Britain Awards.
In 2022, Tariq wrote JUNGLE BOOK: REIMAGINED for Akram Khan’s award-winning dance company. The production premiered at Leicester Curve and went on a major world tour, running for four years and performing in over 30 countries, including Sadler’s Wells (London), Théâtre du Châtelet (Paris), and Lincoln Center (Broadway, New York).
Tariq has been a member of Hampstead Theatre’s INSPIRE Writers Collective and was shortlisted for the BBC Writers’ Academy. He is currently developing his next stage play, alongside a slate of original comedy and drama projects for television.
