Vicki Berwick

Vicki was part of the Royal Court Young Writers programme led by Simon Stephens, and has gone on to write original plays and adaptations. Her work includes Michael Morpurgo’s ‘The Mozart Question’ (Barn Theatre) which was named as one of The Observer’s Top Ten shows of 2022, ‘Hey Christmas Tree’ (Chichester Festival Theatre) and ‘Mr Benn’ (Storystock, Riverside Studios).

Her original short plays include ‘Aphiemi’ (Golden Goose Theatre), and ‘Lucky’ (The Tabard). She also created ‘Cage Fighter’, a conceptual art piece with audio which was held at Books on The Rise gallery in January 2025.

Vicki was one of the original creators of the Blue Plaque Talk Back series (produced by Storystock Sounds). A Blue Plaques Talk Back live event was held at Cadogan Hall as part of the Chelsea Arts Festival in September 2025, with Stephen Fry performing her work.

Her latest play ‘The Last Grand Piano in Gaza’ was shortlist for the Vaults Creative Arts Playwriting award in March 2026, and her original play ‘Woman Life Freedom’ is currently in development with Parity Productions in New York. Her play ‘Hey! Christmas Tree’ will return to Chichester Festival Theatre in December 2026.
