David is a director, playwright translator and deviser, who is bilingual in English and French. He was the Jerwood Assistant Director at the Young Vic in 2020 and received the SDUK Mentorship in 2017. He established his company, Exchange Theatre, in 2006, and has been its artistic director since then. The company makes French classical plays accessible to an English audience through translation and adaptation. Recent productions include THE FLIES (Bunker Theatre), THE MISANTHROPE (CPT/Drayton Theatre) and THE DOCTOR IN SPITE OF HIMSELF (Drayton Theatre/French Lycee). David was also invited to direct and devise a dozen family productions for the French Institute in London over a period of 2 years. David’s work has been presented at The Finborough Theatre, The Bunker Theatre, The French Institute in London and Hackney Empire and he was a guest observer at the Royal Opera House (MADAMA BUTTERFLY) and the National Theatre (HADESTOWN).
David has also participated regularly in the Young Vic Genesis programme and has taught at Arts Educational as well as working on a number of community and school projects.
