Adam Hughes


Adam is a playwright and screenwriter from Leeds. With his working-class background and mixed heritage, he has a passion for telling stories often unheard on our stages and screen. He currently writes for the BAFTA Award-winning CASUALTY and is also developing a range of original television ideas. For stage, he is under-commission to English Touring Theatre and Leeds Playhouse as part of their Nationwide Voices Programme. Previous stage credits include JOY (Leeds Playhouse), WHERE DO WE GO NEXT (Bunker Theatre), WEST END GIRLS (Live Theatre), JAMES GRAHAM’S SKETCHING (Wilton’s Music Hall) and MARCHING ON TOGETHER (Old Red Lion Theatre). A past recipient of the OffWestEnd Adopt a Playwright Award, he is currently on attachment at Leeds Playhouse and the Finborough Theatre
