Bio

Katie is a multi-award-winning writer and performer originally from the West Midlands and a graduate of the Birmingham Conservatoire. Her work includes the storytelling trilogy IT’S A GIRL! which consists of three relatable and empowering plays with songs: BICYCLES AND FISH, SEXY LAMP and STICKY DOOR, all of which have toured the UK. In 2022, Katie was made an Associate Artist at the Pleasance, where she is curating the week-long festival THE FUTURE IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR and for which she is developing her latest storytelling piece THE LONG RUN. Her work has won Show of the Week at VAULT Festival twice, Pick of Pleasance at VAULT Festival, an Offie Commendation, was one of 8 pieces shortlisted for the 2020 Popcorn Award and has been included in The Guardian’s Top 15 Edinburgh Shows Now Touring. Other work includes HALF ACRE as part of Popelei’s Press Play season which has been nominated for a 2020 Offie and EMBARRASSED for Popelei’s Women in Lockdown which was included in The Guardian’s Best 8 monologues of lockdown.
