Kellie Smith writes for theatre, film, radio and is currently developing ideas for TV. Her short film The Big Day won BIFA’s ‘Best Short Film’ award, whilst her other film, half hour drama, To Know Him also received a nomination in the same category. She received an RTS ‘Best Screenwriter’ nomination for To Know Him and both films were BAFTA longlisted. They played at numerous festivals including SXSW and Sydney.
Kellie’s recent theatre work includes ‘Wilderness’ to play at Hampstead Theatre, Spring 2019, and ‘The Monstrum’ for NT Connections. She has been Bruntwood shortlisted and received a Channel Four Pearson Playwrighting award.
Kellie’s Radio 4 afternoon plays include ‘Can’t Live Without You’, ‘Homeowners’ and ‘The Archivist’.
