Nikki Racklin


Nikki Racklin is a bookwriter and lyricist. She was commissioned to write book and lyrics for the all-female musical FIRST LADIES for British Youth Music Theatre, and has now adapted Michael Morpurgo’s WHY THE WHALES CAME, also for BYMT and due to be presented in summer 2020. LOVE ME TO DEATH, Nikki’s modern opera about Ruth Ellis, was performed at the Barbican Pit Theatre, and closed last summer’s Tête à Tête Opera Festival. Nikki has written the lyrics and additional book for a stage musical version of Jennie Buckman’s award-winning radio play, DEPTFORD WIVES, which is due to be presented at Southwark Playhouse in 2021. Nikki’s stage musical adaptation of Morag Joss’s Silver Dagger Award-winning novel HALF BROKEN THINGS was showcased at a book-in-hand sharing at the Tristan Bates Theatre, while her Soho-set musical adaptation of Henry James’s THE WINGS OF THE DOVE was also showcased at the Criterion Theatre this November.
