Melina Namdar


Melina is a working class British Iranian writer and director based in West London. She is currently on Tamasha Directors 2021. Melina aims to create work that has meaning to her and to make an impact with her audiences despite their backgrounds and class. As a woman of colour, Melina wants to showcase underrepresented individuals and cultures. She believes diversity is a kaleidoscope.

Directing credits include PASSION FRUIT (New Diorama), VITAMIN D (Rosemary Branch Theatre) and as Assistant Director ORFEUS: A HOUSE MUSIC OPERA  (Young Vic), CTRL ALT DELETE (Lyric Hammersmith). For her writing Melina has been longlisted for the BBC Script Room 2021 and The Women’s Prize In Playwriting.
